Stoneham/Wakefield – The smiles on the children were endless and for some caregivers it was tears of joy as a very long year ended in a very happy way.

Calling it a “once in a lifetime experience,” or screaming it was “the best day ever!” over 150 children and caregivers from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Stoneham & Wakefield attended the Capital Grille in Burlington for a very special holiday party hosted by the Trachtenberg Family. Sponsors included the Trachtenberg Family, Capital Grille, Long’s Jewelers, & Silk Title Company.

“To see the pure joy on children’s faces made all the planning and fundraising worth it. For the children and caregivers to take a couple of hours on a Saturday during the holiday season and truly enjoy themselves was very special,” commented Marc Trachtenberg.

That pure joy and fundraising increased dramatically when Marc Trachtenberg announced a donation to the families who recently lost their home in the 3 alarm fire at Colonial Point apartments. $10,000.00 was committed to help them get back on their feet and have some semblance of normalcy during the holidays.

Other than a holiday meal with all the fixings, attendees were surprised with visits from Pat the Patriot and Wally the Green Monster. They brought Super Bowl rings and World Series trophies with them for the children to try on and take pictures with. A face painter and magician made the event even more special as they entertained guests. The day was capped off with a visit from Santa who made sure every child and parent left with a gift.

It wasn’t just the young people and their families who enjoyed the day. Adam Mackler, Managing Partner of the Capital Grille in Burlington added, “my team and I had a fun day celebrating the holidays with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Stoneham & Wakefield. It is a day we will never forget!”

CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Stoneham & Wakefield, Adam Rodgers, concluded “The Trachtenberg Family and all of the sponsors epitomize the spirit of the season. We had grandmothers raising again in tears telling us about how much this event meant to them. We had young people smiling ear to ear as one mascot after another visited. The past year, year and a half, have been very difficult, especially for the most vulnerable, events like this don’t just give gifts and a fun experience, they give hope, and let our neighbors know they have a supportive community behind them.”
